As the graphic designer in the marketing department at GSWW, one of my main responsibilities was to create original artwork and dynamic motion graphics for our social media channels. Providing our marketing team with a continuous stream of visually captivating graphics required not only designing original illustrations and graphics but also adapting stock patterns and artwork to keep things fresh and on schedule. This approach played a key role in giving our social content a distinctive and cohesive visual identity that aligned with the unique style of the Girl Scouts.
Managing social media for Girl Scouts of Western Washington was a testament to our marketing team’s excellence. We developed a clear and concise social media calendar grounded in research and feedback. Understanding that impactful posts are more valuable than a high content volume, we prioritized inspirational storytelling, upheld Girl Scout initiatives, and promoted an inclusive community in order to increase engagement.
Witnessing the incredible achievements of these young individuals and learning about their projects was truly inspiring. Many of the endeavors that we chronicled on social media simply blew me away. These young people are discernibly changing our world for the better. It was such an honor to be able to document and recount their accomplishments and to help them celebrate their successes.
